Kofax Capture 10 DBLmgr Provider error.

Image

While working through the Kofax Capture 10 training Lesson 10 I ran into the following error and didn’t find any documentation helping me solve the problem so I though I would post it here.  Following the directions while setting up the batch class worked fine but when I tried to run the verification module I would get the error “DBMgr: The ‘Provider=Microsoft.Jeg.OLEDB.4.0’ provider is not registered on the local machine.” Go back to the lab worksheet and change the directions for step 2 on Lab 10-3 Lab. –

Original Directions:
2. Enter “Customer Data Export” for the Name. Select “Access Database” for the database type. Browse to the C:\Sample folder and select “Customer Data.mdb” for the database and click on [Open]. (from Lab 10-3 Lab-Database Export page 3)

New Directions

2. Run c:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe. In the User DSN tab select add, “Driver do Microsoft Access (*.mdb)” then “Finish”. Enter “KofaxLab10Customer” as the Data Source Name. Click “Select” and browse to the mdb file. Switch back to the Kofax Administrator and select “ODBC Compliant Database” for the database type.

I tried using the ODBC Compliant Database with the MS Access Database source but got a different error.

ORM Serialize ID Not Showing Up

I’ve been having problems getting my primary keys to show up when I serialize an ORM object in coldfusion. I just noticed the attribute serializable. When you set it to true it shows up just fine.

Coldfusion ORM: Failed to lazily initialize a collection of role…..

Coldfusion 10 was giving me the following error.

Application Execution Exception
Error Type: org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException : [N/A]
Error Messages: failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: blm_doc.blm_doc_cases, no session or session was closed

The problem was that following property of the ORM object that was being saved did not have the ormtype set in the property.

property name=”declined_date”
column=”DECLINED_DATE”
sqltype=”DATE”
ormtype=”date”;

The problem only occurred when I tried to save with the declined_date value filled in, otherwise it saved just fine.
